Went for Jaw injury. Said removed 2 teeth and got all the roots. Also said dog needed increased spacing for teeth. They didn't have CT scanner so couldn't evaluate jaw enough to determine if surgery needed. Went to different vet with CT scan. They found 3 teeth missing with roots still left for each. They found spacing between a pair of teeth was trapping food particles and had to repair. Total cost at Houndstooth was around 4k plus another 2k at the other dentist. Dog was very traumatized after recovering from anesthesia fr... read more

Possibly the best veterinary experience I’ve had. Considering the circumstances — a dog with fractured teeth from an accident — that’s saying something. From scheduling and clear estimates to help with insurance, every step that could’ve been impersonal or complicated was made simple and human. Her jaw injury was worse after the procedure - she couldn't drink water. When I wrote them about this it took several days to get a response. The dr. wants to make drawings to illustrate what is happening and do ... read more

I cannot say enough amazing things about this veterinary oral surgery clinic. My cat, Stormy, needed jaw surgery and we had no where else to turn. Most of the ERs around Portland said they could not do what she needed, without even giving her a x-ray first! This team immediately welcomed us, took us in, and treated Stormy with so much kindness and compassion. They were not only professional but also genuinely cared about her life and well-being, not just the money. They were flexible, reassuring, and truly made us feel like ... read more
