About this business

The simple décor of this restaurant allows the food room to shine. This venue is located in Cleveland Heights' funky Coventry district and offers Japanese standards like tempura (golden-fried seafood, vegetables, and chicken), nigiri sushi, and sashimi. Pacific East also features specialty Malaysian dishes like Mango Jumbo Shrimp, Hainanese Chicken, and Rendang (meat simmered with exotic spices, lemongrass, and coconut-milk curry). They tempt patrons with a variety of sakes to compliment their meals. - Marjorie Jensen

You will not be disappointed with Pacific East. The food is excellent. The family and I love coming here for the Sushi. The waitresses are so nice and accommodating. Very clean restaurant. This is one of the best sushi restaurants around. I am so impressed.

Pacific East is definitely the best sushi restaurant ever! I get their lunch special (only $11.95) and choose 2 spicy salmon hand rolls and 1 spicy tuna hand roll! Completely out of this world! They stuff it with so much fish and its so worth the price! Not to mention it comes with a soup and a salad! I also love their giant eel roll, the name says it all!! I give this place 10 stars! Absolutely fantastic!

As a sushi fanatic, I am always pleased when I come here. The sushi is fresh and delicious, and the portions are generous. They also have a delicious bubble tea---I like to get the chocolate and coconut flavors combined! My favorite rolls are the Alaska, Veggie, Spicy Salmon, and the Boston (without the mayo). You should definitely try this place, but only if you're willing to be dissatisfied with other sushi places after you've tasted the greatness that is Pacific East!

I love going to Pacific East the waiters and waitresses are very nice there and the sushi is divine! I go there with all of my friends and for the people who haven't tried it they usually love it or they find out that they don't particularly like sushi. I'm always pleased with the sushi and the prices aren't bad at all! I love getting their bubble tea. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a full five star rating is that whenever I order bubble tea they advertise the jellies and the many flavors they come in on the men... read more

Pacific East Japanese Rstrnt is a good time The suishi here is great -a little pricey, but well worth it. The appetizers are also really good - the combination platters are a good deal because you get a little bit of everything for a good price. There are also some fun Japanese beers on the menu.

Best in town by far – This place is by far the best sushi in Cleveland. Ignore the awards anyone gets - these are based on advertising. Pacific East has the freshest, best cuts you'll get. My only complaint would be the lack of variety of rolls, because that's more of an American adaptation of sushi and they're a little too authentic to play that game. On the other hand, you can design your own so who cares. The service is rapid and frequent, and the quantities are hefty. The price is pretty much the same or a little less th... read more

Great Japanese Food I love this place. We always order a boat of sushi, servers are super friendly, offers tasty bits other then sushi too. Their spicy crab is to die for and their prices are very reasonable. My vote for the best sushi and sashimi in the city. The quality of the fish is unbeatable.

Good enough for a quick fix – I've gone to this place several times, and the food is pretty good, if not authentic. The last time I went, I ordered a donburi (rice bowl with soupy egg topping and choice of meat), and the cooks clearly didn't know what they were doing. They mixed takuan (white radish pickle) into the donburi, something akin to pouring your wine on top of your entree--those things are supposed to be separate. Kind of gross, especially since takuan is an acquired taste for most Americans. They also mixed in the... read more

Call first for Malaysian food – We went there several times now and we always call first to find out if they were sereving malaysian menu that night - the reason for that is because they only have of whihc I think 1 cook that can cook malaysian food. ANd this cook for some reason is not always there. Nice restaurant, malaysian food had it's own menu with quite extensive options, and you can say that the food is good.
