I did not know before cataract surgery that I had dry eye disease. I used eye drops on occasion, but not on a regular basis. I did not know it could be exasperated by cataract surgery, or I would have explored the benefits of cataract surgery more than I did. Not one time did the staff mention dry eye problems worsening because of cataract surgery, although it is known to be an issue. Not once did they test me for dry eyes that I am aware of. My surgery and most of all my surgeon was flawless and she was AWESOME
The optometrist diagnosed cataracts in both eyes but my right eye was fine. So, I told them, repeatedly, that I only wanted surgery in one eye. When I arrived for my 3rd follow up appointment they told me it was not a follow up appointment, that I was scheduled for surgery on the other eye. They got really rude when I declined. I would drive to Seattle or Portland before I would go back to them.
