Tried clams for the first time, they were amazing! The grouper sandwich was good, the fries were incredible!
This place was recommended by our carriage driver and we loved it. Sat at the raw bar and had one of the best oyster shooters I have ever had. Greg gave us great service and the place was really nice. Loved the bacon wrapped crab stuffed shrimp as well
I was looking forward to a nice evening out, and we chose the Oyster House! They were having and evening business hour event in the bar area and we were taken to the restaurant seating area. The service was very poor! We ordered two dozen oysters and I promise you could barely find the oyster they were so small; we decided they had pulled all the good oysters for the business hour crowd! I ordered shrimp and I got grits instead of slaw and it was sooooo good will definitely go back again�
Always went to Magnolias when in town for their shrimp & grits, but tried Oyster House’s shrimp & grits last night & hands down was better tasting! First, the shrimp was fresh & sauce was a pink colored( possibly saffron) tasty sauce. I did go to our reservation today at Magnolias to compare the two restaurants, & realized that the shrimp I’ve always eaten in the dish was frozen- not fresh & the lobster sauce( light brown colored) didn’t compare to the O house sauce. Cool place, generous portions, and comparably priced for the area of Charleston. On those alone it’s a 4 Star. Kevin was our server and he made for an absolute 5 Star experience. If the rest of the staff is half as hard working and talented you simply can’t go wrong. If you’re lucky enough to sit one of Kevin’s tables you’ll have a great meal and a great time.
