In May, I went to VW Owasco in Whitby/Oshawa to have a sunglasses holder replaced under warranty. The claim was denied because my vehicle was out of warranty by just two weeks. After contacting VW Canada, I was informed they would authorize the repair if the dealership agreed to do the work. Greg, the Service Manager—who in my view is a terrible Manager—refused to proceed, stating the only reason was that my vehicle had not been serviced at their location. Absolutely useless for service. I will never buy another VW again. This entire dealership is an embarrassment when it comes to service. My car went in 4 times and was not fixed. It’s a TDI, they ran it low on fuel which is bad for the fuel pump, and then they didn’t fix it. I waited 45 minutes for enterprise to pick me up because OWASCO forgot to call, then I find out they have their own vehicles to lend you and they never offered them. Stay away, buy a Toyota. Owasco has been great for my 2 leased vehicles. The latest renewal offer by Said was unmatched and he went above and beyond - even having our vehicle delivered after finding out we had a young baby at home and making the 3 hour commute would have been a huge ordeal for us. I strongly recommend you get a quote and give them a chance!
I took my VW, still under warranty, for service, because the check engine light lit up. When I picked up the car, the person at the reception desk told me the diagnostic could not find the source of the issue. Two weeks later the check engine light went on. I called Owasco, they gave me an appointment first time next morning. Service manager was very helpful, they re-run diagnosis and made some changes. Hoping problem is now resolved for good.
I’ve tried for days to get a response from Owasco Volkswagen regarding damage to my vehicle’s window switch after a service appointment. I confirmed my email, followed up multiple times, and was promised a call/email — yet I’ve received nothing. This has been extremely inconvenient and disappointing. Still waiting for a proper resolution.
