I came to the ER for mastitis with systemic symptoms. I had 2 days of 102-103 fevers, body aches, and chills, the antibiotics I was on for the mastitis were not working yet and I was miserable. I had rectal bleeding as well. The PA on staff refused to do a CT of my abdomen. They were reluctant to even get me an ultrasound of my breast for the mastitis. My labs came back with a potassium of 2.7 and I was having heart palpitations. They did an EKG and then sent me home with a script for oral potassium replacement which then up... read more
