Been using them occasionally for wellness screenings for about 20 years, but they now require a doctor's orders for the wellness screening. It was nice when they actually believed that an average intelligent person could know enough to learn something from blood levels without being one of the elite doctor's union. Time to move on.
I’ve been coming here for years, even before they moved to this location. This place used to be one of the most affordable ways to get lab work done without a doctor’s order. For many of us, it was cheaper to pay out of pocket here than to use insurance. Now they’ve decided to only accept insurance with a doctor’s order, and it shows where their priorities are — not the patients, just the money. This used to be the only way I could get my frequently needed thyroid tests with or without insurance. Even with my insurance its still cheaper for me out of pocket. With them switching to only accepting doctors order with insurance shows just how greedy Rio Grande Regional has become. Their priority is no longer the patient but the money. It's truly appalling to see it so blatantly in your face how corrupt the health system is.
