We had a terrible experience with Outdoorsy. The host was not home when we went to pick up the van and there was no communication from him or Outdoorsy that he needed to cancel. We lost the first night of our vacation. Outdoorsy’s policy that the host must agree to the cancellation unfairly disadvantages renters. We kept up our end of the agreement, the host did not. We will never use Outdoorsy again.
The most garbage customer service I’ve ever experienced. My trip was cancelled last minute and their “concierge” was supposed to help me book a replacement. We had 6 days to get it done. 3 days in and all I had received was another email from a new representative asking me the same questions about my trip from two days before. The biggest mistake I ever made was renting my trailer through Outdoorsy. My trailer was in perfect condition before I listed it, great tires, no damage. After a renter returned it late and in damaged condition (including tire damage), Outdoorsy refused to hold them accountable or charge them for the repairs. Instead, they tried to make ME pay for damage I didn’t cause. On top of that, their “protection” is basically worthless. We reserved our RV rental months in advance for a family trip, only to have it cancelled just two days before our departure. We tried to be patient and gave the company (RVeedom) the opportunity to find a replacement. The first “replacement” they found fell through, and the second, offered the morning we were leaving, seemed complicated and uncertain.
