We had a great Verde River tour in Cottonwood while we were in Sedona. The kayaks were inflatable and safe and easy to navigate. The rapids were indeed very gentle and easy for pretty much much all experience levels, which was a concern for us. My 9.5 and 12 year old had a blast. They have 1 and 2 seater kayaks, and the guides/instructors were helpful (ours was Blaine)and took some nice pics. I would advise bringing a sunhat and a towel for the ride home as I forgot those. Walt and Tyler were great guides on our kayak tour. The weather was unusually cold, so they offered their wetsuits for us to use complimentary. Walt is a wealth of knowledge and has a great eye for noticing nature along the way. There were some fun rapids along the river that we weren’t expecting so it definitely added to the fun of the trip. Walt and Tyler also take photos along the way to make the trip memorable. I really enjoyed the kayaking, it was my first time, but Blaine did a great job or cheering the two of us in the group as we went from easy relaxing parts of the river, and through the rapids. It was great that he was ready to take pictures of us as we made our way down the river, so no need to worry about bringing a camera/phone. I am 6'5 and the boats had plenty of legroom, and the wetsuits fit and did their job (it was mid-December 2024). My sister and I had a wonderful time kayaking with Blaine! It just happened that no one else signed up for the kayak group the day we did so we ended up fob a private trip which was so fun. It was absolutely awesome that the guide also takes action pictures! So cool to have these times captured. Great trip, would definitely do again!
What an awesome adventure we had on the Verde River with our guide Dave!!👍🏻 Upon entering the river, he gave us a brief synopsis of what to expect along the tour- which definitely reassured us because we really didn't know what to expect! He gave us insight into the history of the canyon above us and talked about the water ways of the river.
