Outback is one of the few legacy chain restaurants that still gets it right. They offer reasonable prices and great food, keeping the classic staples while regularly adding new variety. They also serve solid cocktails, and the San Marcos location has some of the best vibes I’ve experienced. Needed a great dinner after a hard work week away from home. Came in around 530pm and sat at the bar. The bartender was fun and comical. Wish I could remember his name; but he was bald with a big beard. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. Good came out and steak was cooked well done. He laughed and apologized and reordered my steak. Came out cooked absolutely perfect the second time. Lots of people know the bartender. He simply asked “the usual?” To patrons.
