It had been quite a while since I visited an Outback Steakhouse, but I recently stopped in late on a Tuesday evening. I was alone and a walk-in. Despite half the restaurant being empty, I was told there would be a 15–20 minute wait, apparently because they were short-staffed. As it turned out, I was seated in about five minutes. My first impression was that the restaurant and staff looked like they were nearing the end of a grueling campaign and cleanup couldn't come soon enough. Sehr gutes Essen, freundliche Bedienung, etwas längere Wartezeit als erwartet.
Staying locally for a week and was looking for a place to to have a steak dinner. Outback didn’t disappoint. We had the strip, medium rare with salad, sweet potato and a side of mushrooms. Everything was delicious. Jackie, our server was excellent and even gave us advice on what to do and where to go in Chicago while here. Kennedy, the manager, treated us to a dessert just because it was our first trip to Chicago. Exceeded our expectations. Way to go Outback!
