Tourists Beware ! – Ammonia tasting scallops is what I got for dinner ! It was such a horrible experience that my husband loses his appetite on the fish he ordered . The waiter offered to replace it with a new one , but I don't think I can swallow any scallops after that experience .He was very apologetic I told him we are willing to pay for it . This bad taste will linger in my taste buds for a while ...
Great food! – I had a very good meal at Pesca. Highly recommend the Alaska black cod with Oyster curry. Although the Sonoran Seafood Cocktai l was a bit bland and they were out of the wine I ordered. The placemment wine was good but the service was slow
look elsewhere for a great seafood experience – This weekend was my second experience at Pesca, and it compelled me to write a review (my first). This restaurant has EVERYTHING going for it. The Watermark hotel is an incredible place to stay - definitely one of the nicest if not THE nicest place to stay on the river. But, Pesca misses the mark. I will say the people seem nice. But sometimes the service seems good and other times you might feel like you're at Chili's. The place seems geared toward up-selling you than creating... read more
horrible experience !! – I tried Pesca during this Presidents day weekend. The only thing great was the "Price"...the service was pathetic, some waitresses were not even courteous. Yes it was a busy day but it shouldnt be an excuse and i would never recommend this restaurant. Probably the worst dining experience of my life..
Worst restaurant experience in United States – My husband, friends and I are major foodies.. we try out at least a new restaurant every week, be it in Phoenix where we are from, or be it where ever we are visiting... So the president's day weekend, we were in Texas and what would you love to do on a Sat night.. be at the river walk... We were hungry for some good quality sea food and our boat ride guide and a few others suggested we try Pesca on the river.. We really don?t mind paying the money if the ambience and food are j... read more
Nice atmosphere does not translate to good food – My wife and I had an average experience at Pesca last year but we like the atmosphere, so we decided to re-visit the restaurant. We went there pretty late (approx. 10 pm). The waitress was very attentive but the food was absolutely awful. My wife ordered 1/4 lb crabmeat as appetizer and snapper and I ordered spinach salad with Monkfish as entree. The spinach salad turned out to be a pleasant surprise, crabmeat was edible but nothing to write home about and both of entree were... read more
An Amazing Experience – I went to Pesca on the River for lunch the other afternoon with my Boyfriend. Had very high expectations for the restaurant which were all meet. The service was great had servers waiting on us hand and foot. We had a five course meal which was breathe taking I was surprised at the detail in the presentation. Food Amazing, Service Great, Price Worth It!! I highly recommend you try Pesca!
Tourist Trap – For the money go to Budros! Bad service, fair but overpriced food. In all my years of dining, I have never had a waiter bring 2 botlles of wine and try to upsale ant tableside! I live in San Antonio, not some hole in the wall, south of the border. Class, this place has it in price only.
upscale seafood on the Riverwalk – As a first time visitor to San Antonio's Riverwalk and unsure of where to eat, I stumbled into Pesca because of it's beautiful wood furniture-filled patio and more fine tuned menu. The outside ambience was beautiful--quieter than others on the Riverwalk--and the service was for the most part excellent. I had a charming young waiter (although a bit inexperienced) that seemed to have a good knowledge of the menu and wine list. The chopped crab salad was light, fresh, and delicious. The house ... read more
