Since the OSF hospital in Peru, Illinois, opened a year ago, I have not visited it. Today, I had to take my 81-year-old mother, who suffers from dementia and diabetes to the emergency room. After being taken to a small room for general information, we were returned to the waiting area, where we waited for two hours. Now that I found out Dr. William Sullivan is working there as ER doctor, I will NOT be going there! He is worse doctor on the planet! He told me when he worked at Streator a long time ago my “chest pains” were all in my head. I went to bigger hospital and come to find out I have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and needed emergency heart surgery! We need new doctors! Not judgmental doctors that assume everyone is drug addict!

If you are going through a mental health crisis DO NOT go to St Elizabeth’s. After being evaluated I was told they wanted to monitor me for 24 hours, maybe less but they would need to transfer me. I understood as I believed the motto ‘it is okay to not be okay’. Both the St. Elizabeth’s staff and I acknowledged I was VOLUNTARILY agreeing to it. After I was seen, the nurse wheeled me out to the lobby. While I was waiting for my ride I had to go to the restroom. I got stuck half way in the bathroom as the automated door closed on me. I finally got unstuck and was finally able to get to the commode. My husband found me in the bathroom needing help. There are NO EMERGENCY CORDS !!!!! So, if you ever have to use the restroom make sure there is someone with you, just in case something were to happen.
