Although this is a very busy practice where you can feel like a number while in the waiting area, I have nonetheless found, repeatedly, that some of the docs and staff are amazing and really care about the patient. I walked in today with a severely inflamed knee and Brandie, one of the medical assistants, was able to work me in with Dr Rockwell. Couldn't even GET in!! My 9 y/o daughter fractured her arm and was seen in the ER over the weekend, her condition stabilized until Monday to be consulted by an orthopedist since her condition would likely require surgery. However, when I called first thing Monday morning, the earliest appt. the receptionist would offer me was 5 DAYS away even though I explained the situation was urgent. Terrible Experience From Start to Finish
First of all let me just say the nurse and Doctor's staff was excellent. However, the front desk staff is very cold and do not try to accommodate the patient when there is a financial or insurance situation. My personal experience at front desk was at best on a scale of 1 to 10 a flat 3. When the check in worker thought I didn't have insurance she coldly asked for hundreds of dollars. I went to their walk-in clinic this morning for an injured hip, due to a fall. I saw their PA, Michelle had an x-Ray and exam. A CT Scan was ordered and done as a precaution for a non-displaced fracture. It was negative. I got a callback from Michelle early this afternoon informing me of the results. This is some of the best service I've ever had from a health care provider. Truly Excellent.
Excellent experience! Four days before Christmas my back went out and Dr Miller's nurse Amanda worked me in the schedule same day. Dr Miller was so gracious and helpful - asked Dr Pecarero to fit me in for an injection. So for me in at the end of their long day!! Pain free now. Best Christmas gift ever!! Thank you to kind gracious staff who have the human connection!!!! Don't see that in all docs.
Ever since Orthowilmington merged with the other practices and became Emergeortho it is impossible to get appointments and tests. Every doctor has a care coordinator and you have to wait for the care coordinator to call you back to schedule anything. It takes over 2 months to get an emg scheduled. I very much like the practioners but no one calls you back. I waited four days for the care coordinator to call me back regarding scheduling a back injection. Very bad experience. Called this morning to inquire about the walk in clinic. I explained to the receptionist that I had chronic pain in my shoulder and would like to come in today to have it checked. The receptionist explained that I needed to go to the Ashton Dr. office for the walk in clinic to be seen today. When I arrived at the Ashton Dr. office the clerk at the desk told me that the walk in clinic was only for injuries that happened today and that I needed to make an appointment with a specialist for my shoulder... read more
First of all they canceled my procedure not once but twice in the same week last cancelation 45 minutes before it was to be done. Finally got it done but I would never go back to this office again to big and always merging.
