Hamilton is the best thing ever put on at the Orpheum. I'll prob go see it again in a month or two :)

The theater was as I always remembered it, an oasis in the middle of slum. I've always enjoyed the Orpheum and their productions (Hamilton) but hated negotiating the minefield of junkies, drunks and homeless from the overpriced lot where I parked my car to the theater. Not the theater's fault but...
Beautiful and elegant place! Great stage. Ushers were very nice.
The theater is a beautiful relic. A piece of SF history. It's part of the experience so set your expectations and go soak it up. Get friendly, meet new people as you rub shoulders in your "small" seat or stand in line to pee. I'm thankful for the privilege to see any show here. Hamilton was magnificent. Worth whatever you pay for the ticket. As for the area around the theater - welcome to the city. I've never felt unsafe... just sad.
