San Francisco's Oriental Pearl – went over with my Family and friends on a Saturday, thought it was going to be impossible to get a table but it was not, the place was really clean and had a good vibe going on, pretty quiet tho. Great Hidden Little Restaurant in China Town – The Oriental Pearl Restaurant offers great quality dim sum at a reasonable price. My sister and I arrived absolutely ravenous and ordered 8 different items, plus a pot of green tea, and our bill came out to be just less than $30. Dim sum appetizer good. Entrees ok. – Not the most dynamic chinese food we've ever had. The service was attentive, the restaurant seems pretty clean. The cleanliness also lends itself to generic-ness, though. The dim sum appetizer was the best part of the meal--lots of great flavors and sauces. Excellent foods and excellent service – I went there for a weekend meal. The service was excellent and the foods marvelous.. we had steamed talipita, egg plant in clay pot, peking duck, and scallop.. Cannot say enough how good is this place.
Excellent find in Chinatown – Had dinner on a Sunday night without a reservation. We were staying at the downtown Marriott and walked there in @ 10-15 minutes. We originally went to the Empress of China and left before ordering due to the rudeness of the staff. Hostess at Oriental Pearl was friendly and we were seated right away. A Pearl in Chinatown – This restaurant is a pearl among the greasy dives of Chinatown. We had Chinese Broccoli with dried salted fish, scallops and calamari sauteed with chinese chives and tofu soup with minced pork and seaweed. All carefully prepared and delicious. A 2nd floor location, linen tablecloths, a clean bathroom and a good heating system add to Oriental Pearl's charm. A good place to take out of town guests.
