I used Orfields for three projects at my previous home. The first was creating a family room space in an unfinished basement. They opened the stairway, put in an egressed window, storage closets along one wall and a bookcase along another. It no longer seemed like a basement when they finished! Orfield Design helped us with several remodeling projects for our house, including updating our upstairs bathrooms with new tiles, floors and plumbing, adding a small bathroom on our main floor, and converting part of our unfinished basement into a finished home theater space. They worked with us on the design and construction and were very collaborative through the entire process. We were very happy with the quality and time for completion of the projects.
Laura reimagined our living room in 2022, and her design instinct is what set the experience apart. We came in with a vague sense that the space wasn't working and no real idea how to fix it—she saw the possibilities immediately. The layout and material choices she landed on felt obvious in hindsight, which is the mark of a good designer: she solved problems we hadn't fully articulated. Communication was clear throughout, and the result is a room we actually use and enjoy. Highly recommend Laura and the Orfield team.
