I called the Pinole store, and said I needed 3 four foot threaded rods, either 3/16 or 1/4 inch. I was told they have them, so I drove there in the rain from central Richmond. I got there, and they only had 2', 3', or 6' rods. I mentioned I'd just called, and was told they had them, and the response was 'you said 3 feet.' The store was almost empty, and it's no wonder why. Won't be going back.

Full disclosure: I work at the corp office but I'm relatively new to shopping at OSH, and the store associates didn't know I was a co-worker until payment. I had great customer service from Jenni, Melissa and Juliana. All helpful and knowledgeable; willing to answer any question I had as I fumbled through my first-time purchase of a fire pit table.

The employees are on the whole, helpful and friendly. Many have worked there for years and are just darned good people. The tool selection is good. They skip the exotic high-end (Festool and the like) but carry Bosch, Hitachi, Dewalt etc. About the only thing I wish they would carry is Kennedy toolboxes. Open until late. I cannot believe I am saying this about a hardware store but I actually like shopping at OSH on Ashby.
