Dr black is the best! Dr. Black is extremely friendly, genuinely cares for your animal and gives excellent service. My kitten was extremely sick he took my cat in right away. My kitten had to stay over night because he still wasn't doing well. Dr. Black called me around 9 pm with excellent news that he was doing much better and was back to his perky self. Pamela & Michael in Silverado In April 2010, my lab (Duke) was in distress. I rushed him to emergency pet hospital in Tustin on Sunday 5:00 am. He was diagnosed with cancer of the spleen, heart and liver. Surgery was not recommended. I was asked to leave him there so they could put in down. Long time client We have been clients for 10 years. We have had nothing but good experiences with Dr Black. We adopt seniors that no one will take and have spent a small fortune over the years. Yes, we feel sometimes charges are high but our dogs receive the best of care and that is what is most important. Like most things in life you get what you pay for. Homemaker We have known Dr. Black for years. He has treated many of our animals. We have interacted with many vets over the years too as we are animal lovers. Dr. Black is our number one vet.In reality, Dr. Black NEVER overcharges. He is simply just extremely thorough with the level of care he provides. The prices he charges are comparable to other vets in the area. Good, but would not recommend Agree with most of the others here: Good quality, but lots of seemingly unnecessary work done and very high prices (like 4 times the cost of the other clinic I found).
Over Charges Although I have found Dr. Black to be caring towards my animals, I feel like it's a business first. You know what I mean ... the priority should be the other way around. It seems that there are too many tests and too many shots. I have had to spend hundreds of dollars and they have only been routine issues. It makes me question whether this is the right place for us. The atmosphere is comfortable and the staff has always been so nice but I have also noticed the staff is different every time I go there.
Animals Health First I have been taking my pets to Dr. Black for a long time. I have at times encountered charges that were hard to swallow, but they were always in the best interest of my pets and always known upfront. Owning a pet is expensive. Unauthorized services I brought my dog in for a bath and blood test. when i picked her up the charge was close to $400 for unauthorized services including a medication that was detrimental to other existing conditions. when i addressed this with dr. black he just said he couldn't provide medication without the tests however i never asked for medication i just wanted to check her blood levels. needless to say he did not refund one penny
We stopped going here years ago I had to weigh in on this because we took our dog to Dr. Black for several years. I felt that he put our dog's health first, and that's a plus. But my husband was out of work for almost a year during that time and even though I explained that to the vet, he still did procedures and tests and things that I did not agree to when I brought our dog in for her vaccinations.
