Update: I reached out to the Patient Experience team as Optum suggested and they said they couldn’t do anything about the high price for the $799 flu test. People in Poughkeepsie cannot afford healthcare like this. Optum charged me $799 for a flu test, including a $125 fee for going on a holiday (on which they were already open). I was in the exam room for less than 10 minutes. People in Poughkeepsie can’t afford $799 flu tests.
I’m use to going to the optum in the Bronx where we use to live. The doctors here are amazing, the place is very clean and on time. No one likes going to the doctors but at least here it’s clean and welcoming.
Long wait. Once in the room, left alone for over an hour for a strep test. No sign of the dr for anything. Do NOT come here!
Staff were great, Dr. O'Sullivan was very knowledgeable, compassionate, empathetic and funny!
