Option care pharmacy would not return calls all day until after hours and then would do nothing even though they have 24 hrs pharmacy line. The result was a more than 48 hrs gap in iv antibiotic does. I have an antibiotic resistent bug. This lack of communication and hiatus in treatment could only make matters worse potentially building a super bug resisitent to one of the few antibiotics that is working. I’ve had ongoing issues reaching staff, and my medications are frequently not prepared when I arrive. I’m also concerned about safety practices—specifically, nurses not performing hand hygiene, not wearing gloves when inserting IVs, and using the same alcohol pad to clean their fingers and then my arm. I don’t feel safe going here anymore.
The only reason I'm sharing this is I can imagine somebody who doesn't want to be a bother sitting at home thinking maybe they got it wrong because nobody ever followed up and nobody ever called and either they get readmitted to the hospital or worse they never make it. Longest story short I only saw a nurse one time out of 3 weeks. I had a midline, they never changed the dressing, never drew my labs and the one nurse I did see was the owner of another agency "doing them a favor " I had to tell on them to my insurance case m... read more
