Executive Director refers to the rescue as being similar to that of a concentration camp. Former Vet Tech and animal care manager from the clinic. I worked there for 4 years and literally gave my whole life to try to help those animals and have a voice for them but management could care less about the animals. All they care about is money. One of A Kind Pet Rescue is no better than a puppy mill, they are definitely a kill organization regardless of what their mission states, they do not hold true to their core mission. A majority of the animals are brought in from out of State or a significant distance to pick up from breeders and puppy mills, this is not supporting the local Akron community, this is bringing "Pure breed / designer" animals to a rescue and charging top dollar. Not a great experience. I put in an application for adoption of a cat after meeting with a foster mother of a kitten and meeting and greeting the little guy. My husband and I were both smitten.....we just very recently tragically lost two of our cats.....one to old age/cancer and one to an undetected heart condition that took him from a very healthy cat to within hours he was gone from us.
