One Med has been our primary care provider for several years. In Arizona and now Manhattan. Our docs have been uniformly first rate, as have staff, facilities and tech. Schantal Polanco, who cares for us now, is our favorite. TBH, I expected the Amazon acquisition to bring on a round of enshittification, but we have not experienced it.
One Medical has fallen victim to Amazon takeover and is not the same quality provider they used to be. They now treat patients like they are just a headcount. There are new policies and practices in place that are quite detrimental and harmful. Here is an example. In Jersey City, the 2nd largest city in NJ there is not a permanent doctor at their office. If you opt out of allowing your doctor to use an AI transcription tool during your visit, be prepared to be near-constantly guilted about all the work they’re having to do typing up all your information. I’ve never had such an unprofessional doctor. I think she brought up the fact that she was “so distracted” by having to type everything no fewer than five times during my appointment. Awful billing practices. The try and get you to schedule multiple appointments to cover simple things that can be covered during your annual physical in order to charge exorbitant amounts for what amounts to 10 minute appointments. They don’t send itemized invoices unless you chase them down and they’ll unbundle the medical codes to upcharge you for the care
