Building is in the process of switching Spectrum to part of rent. I was being charged by the building for 2 months for internet service they were not providing to me, so to not have my internet shut off I was still paying for my old service. I put in 4 work orders to maintenance to get hooked up, 3 phone calls to the building manager to inquire on when I would be hooked up and was ignored for about 30+ days. Tenant for 5 years. Place was great when moved in. Rent went up $200 for everyone last year. Quality of maintenance has gone down over the years. Building staff leave garbage and boxes all over for days on end, kids scream up and down the hallways and it smells like pot 24/7. And you would think with $200 x 500+ units they could afford to hire professional landscapers. I really want to love it, I just didn't. The area is beautiful, the rent is reasonable, and I liked the appliances and cabinets. However, while the walls themselves are concrete and seem soundproof, you can hear the TV and music of neighbors down the hall through your door. The ceilings are also not nearly soundproof enough; I could hear the dog barking upstairs and the tenants of that apartment loudly stomping around from 5 AM through midnight. Ceilings are low and walls are brown, not attractive. On the other hand the kitchen appliances are decent . The vibe of the building is institutional. There’s new management, hopefully they make some upgrades. The biggest plus is the location on the picturesque Franklin Square park, it’s a quiet area near the river walk, and the building has ample free parking.
