Zero stars. My father was scheduled for open heart surgery, and I wanted to get some things done in his home before he was released from the hospital. I called One Call Handyman Services and was told that they'd send someone out to do an estimate for the work. I was also told that the estimate would require a $38.00 fee which would be applied towards any work I chose to have done. The estimator was late, but I paid the $38.00, and he said that I should get an email and/or a call on the next day with my estimate. This was on ... read more
I had them do simple repairs at my house. They did not put crown molding in one of the rooms I told the estimator to put crown molding in and when I asked them why it was not done they stated it was not in the contract so they were not obligated. An item that was in the contract they then attempted to charge an additional $400 for the repair and had the audacity to say that the contract did not mean they would actually complete the repair and they would only "check" it. They wanted to charge a $68 fee for an estimate that probably could have been done over the phone! Give me a break!! Oh but if you decide to go with us we will use that $68 towards the service....that's just them trying to lock you in so you don't "lose" the $68! Everyone gives free estimates these days. They need to get on board!
