Excellent explanations! Very approachable to questions.
I’ve been aware of my chiari malformation since I was 15. During childbirth, my OB and anesthesiology consulted with Dr. Choutka about the epidural. They told me he said “to follow up with him after, he’d be happy to see me.” I put it off for a while cause in my numerous experiences with neurology, few of the doctors are any good. He really got to know me. There was no rush, the concern was there. I walked out having more confidence in myself, the directions and choices I have. It was a wonderful visit and look forward to the future.
I had a dangerous metastatic breast cancer tumor compressing my spinal cord and needed urgent surgery to hopefully not be paralyzed. Thanks to Dr. Choutka and the excellent team at Saint Alphonsus (and a lot of PT) I have been able to go kayaking and hiking this summer. He explained things thoroughly and was very kind.
Saw the PA who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She was very through and caring. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

It's so clear that he cares about people, not to mention it's just as obvious that he is brilliant and knowledgeable about his field. It's wonderful when you find those qualities all in one Dr! I was recently treated by Dr. Choutka, and on 11/4/2020 Brain surgery by him., From the moment I met Him, I was in no better hands then his.. Very caring, explained everything to me. I recommend him to all.
