They don’t take very much of what I bring in & when I get everything back it was just trashed and thrown in the container or basket after I just spent hours ironing, and folding everything neat. I have found that if I drive to the Surfside Beach (Myrtle Beach) store they take almost everything & pay a lot more.
"Do Not Enter... We Hate You" Just another secondhand shop with pretensions of retail. This place has the added twist of weird and hostile owners & staff and as a bonus, the prices for the used to used-up clothing are ridiculous.
Not what they use to be, it's not that big of a deal to get so little for your items when you can buy more at great prices. Unfortunately their merchandise prices have gone up but the amount they give to you when you sell to them has gone down. It's also often cheaper to just buy new at many stores. I've frequently found items that actually cost more to buy used at Once Upon a Child than they are currently at the store they came from. This shop is one of the worst childrens consignments I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. After bringing in 3 bins of little girls clothing (one bin being full of brand new items with tags still on) and another full of handmade lace and velvet dresses. I was told that I had to wait 6 hours to be told what they would give me. I obviously left and came back. Total rip off, it would take me days to write everything that this store does that is very shady. The new owners have cleaned up the store, and made it look nicer, it takes less time to sell, but they have completely loss any concept of customer service. Don't ever dare to give them a bad review or complain because you will be attacked. They even took it to the extreme of slandering me online. Ms RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL! I wish i could give a -5 star. Very poor level of customer service and professionalism is displayed by the new owners Todd & Piggie Hines. I will never return to this store nor the North Area store and every parent that I come in contact with at my child's school, at work, church, shopping or in general conversation will be told to not patronize their establishments.
I went here 9/16/13 for the first time and not happy at all they were rude as soon as we got there I brought a lot of clothes and shoes and they said that it had to be in a box which I was fine with it just the way they said it, then they only took 12 items and I got $10.80 for it and one of the shoes were new and when I asked why that was all they wanted they said the rest use to used but when I was look around I saw a lot for stuff that was more worn out then anything that I brought in. Great Deals I always find great deals at this store but had an unfortunate encounter with the employee that rang me up last summer. I bought over one hundred dollars worth of clothes-for the prices here, that equals A LOT!- and the salesgirl was just in an awful mood. She sighed, rolled her eyes, and put her head down on the counter when I came up to pay. She rang me up as if it broke her back to do so. Not happy! I am not happy with the service that I have recieved from the business. I was treated horribly. They didn't give me as much money for my items as I thought they should have. It is very unorganized and overpriced.
