Rude All I have to say about this place is the staff is so rude, rude, rude! I am so suprised this place stays in business. Good idea to put all the toys so high and out of sight that the only way to see what is up there is to ask for help. And when you ask for help they seem so bothered. I understand that the children that go into the store trash the toy section but I really don't think the answer is to put the toys out of reach and sight of the customers. Once Upon A Dream I am so shocked by some of the reviews I just read. I have shopped at Once Upon A Child on numerous occassions. Each and every time I have been there, I have been greeted with warm friendly smiles. The staff is so kind and helpful. When I was looking for certain books, the owner actaully took my name and number and called me when they came in. Who does that? The best part was that the books were only $1.00 each. I agree once upon a nightmare! Are they serious?!?! This is one of the worst CS I have ever been to. The ladies behind the counter are beyond rude, the clothes on the racks have horrible wash wear, stains, and just look over used. I went the other day with a bag full of clothes nwt gap, bloomingdales, even some uggs that were like new and some other things my daughter has outgrown. loved!! Would go back!! Loved my experience both selling and purchasing. The prices were great and I walked away with bogs full of great quality items (clothes and stroller) for my little one. And the girls behind the counter were so nice they answered all my questions.
A better alternative If folks want an alternative that isn't too far. Jump on 7 and get off at exit 12 in Brookfield. We opened a nice alternative called Kidz Korner Thrift Shop. We accept donations of women's, maternity and anything child appropriate. We give tax reciepts instead of buying the items or consigning. This way our prices out beat everyones hands down. Best Deal for BOOKS!! Just purchased tons of summer reading books for my kids. What a great deal....most books were only $1 and they even had a sale BUY3 Get 1 FREE. Magic Tree house, Junie B Jones, Dr.Seuss all for buck. They said I can even sell them back once my kids are done! Way to recycle and save. We love Once Upon A CHILD in Danbury, we are super fans!
Once Upon a nightmare! Why is everyone giving this store great reviews. IT STINKS. The clothes are horrible- the condition they take clothes in, bad wash wear, stains. Not a place I would buy from. I suggest to donate your clothes before bringing them here. The staff is rude also, the older spanish lady needs to learn manors.
Terrible Experience Sell On Ebay Instead I dropped clothes off there the other day. I went back at night expecting to have made some money. Instead they bought almost nothing and when I asked the manager why she gave me a snippy answer and preceded to go back to listening to music on the computer that had curses in it and an inappropriate video for a kids store. Love the store! Love this store!! I made a baby basket full of brand new items for under $30. I've gotten tons of Juicy, Abercrombie and Hollister items there that we're all under $10, no sale at any of these stores could compare. As for selling... it may not be the amount you were looking for but that's because you're getting 30%, which isn't a bad thing. Most consignment shops give you 40% BUT make you wait till the stuff sells. So why not save yourself a headache and take the few less bucks...
