jon I was so disgusted, I had new clothing brand names with tags, they tried to give me $1.50 for a $32.00 PAIR OF NIKE CHILDRENS NEW SHOES. There are so many new places popping up, don't waste your time there, Bad, Rude customer service. dirty ,over crowded store. jon
horrible experience my experience was bad. they met none of my expectation's. they wanted to pay me nothing for brand new item's,i just tried to submit review ,they sent it back stating , there is too much nonsense in it. unbelievable. there prices are unreasonable, the store is a mess, the employee's rude, some are. i would not ever recommend them, don't waste your time. n/g Nov, 17 2008
I live the store! I love buying things from Once Upon A Child. However, I too was very disappointed when I tried to sellthem my items. Some were purchased there and hardly used. However, it was explained that their stock was very high. I did not get much money, but it is a business and in order to sell things cheaply, merchandise must not be costly. I personally love the store!
LOOK ELSEWHERE I have bought from Once Upon a Child before and been very happy. However, I strongly suggest NEVER selling to them. You will get pennies for qualities merchandise, including clothes. I spent hours sorting through clothes, toys, etc.... and giving them only quality products. Clothes with tags on them, etc.... Almost everything I brought was given back to me except for a few expensive items which they gave me NOTHING for. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I should have known when a customer in the store saw me bringing in ite... read more
Rude, unhelpful staff Once Upon a Child is a good place to purchase clothing, but a terrible place to sell anything. They pay pretty much nothing for brand new or very gently worn clothes, yet their racks are filled with items that are outdated or faded. You really have to dig to find good items. I was looking for an exersaucer and found many that were at least 7 years old, broken, dirty and expensive! The staff is beyond rude. They have zero customer service ability and are all teenagers who have no idea about the items the... read more
Almost perfect This store offers almost perfect clothes for younger chilren and babies. The prices are very inexpensive. The store does seem a bit crowed for the inventory they have, so it is sometimes hard to search though the racks of clothes they have. Since they take gently used clothes, its a great way to dress your child for a fraction of what it would buying them new. Definatly worth a look, when you have the time to.
GumdropSwap is the alternative I was unhappy with UOAC and didn't want to donate my 3 kid's clothes and not get anything for them. Then I found this website called http://www.GumdropSwap.com. It's a boutique based in Bridgeport, CT but you can do everything through the mail. So I swapped in a ton of stuff and got new stuff and nice gently used things in return. I got a lot more return on my investment with them and highly recommend as an alternative to UOAC
pleasantly surprised. The purpose of the store is not to supply parents with cash But to supply children with quality merchandise at a reasonable too low cost!!! The store basically started on the concept of sharing what you can with those who have not or little.! Keeping those thoughts in mind I recently came across some clothes that I had put away for my granddaughter when she was 2, she is now 5, most of the clothing wear summer ,out of season ,but there were a few outfit that were winter already... yes they were name bra... read more
RIP OFF!!!!!!!!! I went to Once Upon a Child with a $350 oak crib. Used less than 2 yrs and was in perfect condition. They wanted to give me $50!!!! Are they crazy?! I knew I wasn't gonna make a lot of money back, but GEESH!! You can't buy a crib like that anywhere for less than $200.00. I wouldn't bring anything there or shop there again. They have teenagers working who don't know the first thing about baby stuff so how can they tell you what you are going to get for them? Ridiculous!!! Not to mention they put your stuff do... read more
