I live the store! I love buying things from Once Upon A Child. However, I too was very disappointed when I tried to sellthem my items. Some were purchased there and hardly used. However, it was explained that their stock was very high. I did not get much money, but it is a business and in order to sell things cheaply, merchandise must not be costly. I personally love the store!
LOOK ELSEWHERE I have bought from Once Upon a Child before and been very happy. However, I strongly suggest NEVER selling to them. You will get pennies for qualities merchandise, including clothes. I spent hours sorting through clothes, toys, etc.... and giving them only quality products. Clothes with tags on them, etc.... Almost everything I brought was given back to me except for a few expensive items which they gave me NOTHING for. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I should have known when a customer in the store saw me bringing in ite... read more
GumdropSwap is the alternative I was unhappy with UOAC and didn't want to donate my 3 kid's clothes and not get anything for them. Then I found this website called http://www.GumdropSwap.com. It's a boutique based in Bridgeport, CT but you can do everything through the mail. So I swapped in a ton of stuff and got new stuff and nice gently used things in return. I got a lot more return on my investment with them and highly recommend as an alternative to UOAC
Hit or miss Regarding infants clothing you can find some real cute stuff in very good condition for a decent price. Also, holiday clothing for Easter and Christmas are abundant and great priced. If you are looking for something like school clothing for a 4 or 5 year old then you might be better off paying a few more bucks at WalMart. Their older kids clothing is wash worn at best and downright stained and dingy frequently. Which is quite shocking because they are supposedly pretty picky about what they will take. On items su... read more
lailas mom i have sold them some things that were brand new almost and i feel like they did cheat me. and i brought things the same day and what they gave me for my nstuff was ridiculous but i didnt feel like bringing everything back home so i took the change and put it toward what i purchased. needless to say it didnt put a dent in the 167.00 dollars i spent. and yes the staff is very rude, so ive decided to find another spot to bring my other things. and yes some of the shoes were not gently used, you can find nice shoes i... read more
RIP OFF!!!!!!!!! I went to Once Upon a Child with a $350 oak crib. Used less than 2 yrs and was in perfect condition. They wanted to give me $50!!!! Are they crazy?! I knew I wasn't gonna make a lot of money back, but GEESH!! You can't buy a crib like that anywhere for less than $200.00. I wouldn't bring anything there or shop there again. They have teenagers working who don't know the first thing about baby stuff so how can they tell you what you are going to get for them? Ridiculous!!! Not to mention they put your stuff do... read more
People need to be respectful I have recently been into the Once Upon a Child that is in Bristol and those girls are nothing but polite and hard working. Yes they are very young but the ones that I have seen are eager to learn and willing to help people for the most part with the occasional bad seed but mostly polite. If you've actually been in the backroom of the store you would know why they are selective on merchandise. They are less picky to things that they need, whether you have new items or not. Those girls deal with v... read more
WHAT A LET DOWN I'm actually a huge fan of Once Upon A Child! I have found absolutely wonderful products at the DANBURY store. Bristol is a bit closer to home, so I decided to check out the OUAC there. I was DISGUSTED by the appearance of the store. The floors were filthy. It smelled of must and my mom actually ended up having an allergy attack! The clothing selection was sub-par. Many of the items were stained, faded and very worn. The baby items such as exersaucers, swings, and furniture were dirty. I don't just mean faded... read more
love this store. Im highly upset with what some of you critics have been saying . Yes they give u close to nothing when u sell them your items but, they aren't expensive at all i go there alot to buy for my7 month old and the clothes dont go over 6.50 alot of the clothes are about 2.50. Also to the lady that said u can go to toys r us and get a crib for 40$ are u serious in what world?? Toys r us is very expensive. All in all i have never had a problem or a complain about OUAC i give it 5 star and i recomend it to everyone
