RecommendedI purchased an '04 OME Custom Top-tension 5-string banjo as my 50th Birthday present. Delightful tone, extreme volume, and of course beautiful craftsmanship. 14 years later, it sounds better every time I play it. Wonderful staff to talk to as well.
Great sounding banjos!
I currently own two Omes; an Omega and a long neck Columbine. Both beautiful and fantastic players. The Omega is perfect for playing Old Time, Irish and other melodic clawhammer tunes in the eclectic ‘Orchard Mountain String Band.’ The long neck helps channel the old days in high school and college in reaching-for those folk songs we used to play in keys like E and F. Smooth as silk and even better than the old Vega. A great pair to draw from :0)
My Wizard open-back is an absolute dream to play and hear. It's also quite beautiful to look at. You can tell a lot of love went into this banjo when it was being made. It will be with me for a very long time!
Proud owner of an OME plectrum, not sure of the exact model and year, I think it’s a standard Gold Columbine. Very beautiful craftsmanship, neck is a dream and the sound is lionesque, sublime....
Ome is all I use. Period! You cannot ask for a better quality or sounding Banjo!
I have a Ome Buffalo Nickel model, and it's a great banjo for me! I play mostly old time, but also use it to teach bluegrass banjo and it's perfect for both. Thank you for a beautiful and very practical instrument.
I own four OME banjos and there are none finer--the workmanship and design is impeccable!!
