He is so caring and the best! I started seeing him when my neurologist retired. The second visit he sat me down and explained my brain scan in detail backing up the family stories of my head injury and stroke. I cried when I got to my car. He is now retired and I haven't seen him since like 2010 but he will remain in my heart.
Dr. McDowell is an accomplished and well-regarded neurologist. I would recommend him to anyone.
After one visit and one test Dr. James R. McDowell made the diagnosis that ruined my life. He placed his hand on my thigh, looked across to me and asked "Do you know what you have?" I replied "No, I don't", he then said "You have Alzheimers" AND from that visit on for FIVE YEARS my drivers license was revoked! I was only 55 years old. We lived out of town so I had no freedom to visit friends, shop, or any other activities. After THREE years Dr. McDowell said "Well, you don't have Alzheimers".
