Had breakfast this morning and the food was okay but the hostess was terrible. We and the other guests all seemed to be a nuisance to her and she was being inconvenienced by seating us. Our actual waitress Paola was outstanding but first impressions are tough to overcome. Food was decent quality but nothing exceptional. If you’re staying at the hotel then it’s worth a stop but otherwise there are many better options.
The food is SO bland. My kid got butter noodles, and somehow they tasted bad—like, how do you even mess up butter noodles?! I got the white clams, and they basically tasted like watery tomato broth. And the Caesar salad was so bad—barely any dressing and just overall not good. Our waiter was amazing, but unfortunately, the food was a huge miss.
We had such a wonderful birthday dinner for Viv at Olive & Hay, and a huge part of what made the evening so special was Eunice. She was absolutely delightful—warm, welcoming, attentive, and made sure everyone at the table was taken care of from beginning to end. She truly made Viv’s birthday dinner feel extra special, and we felt so comfortable and welcomed the entire evening. While our stay at the Meritage had its ups and downs, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Olive & Hay. Wilbert, our server, was so fun and funny and kind and made our last night there celebrating my birthday very memorable!!! And all the food and drinks we had were delicious. Thank you Wilbert for such a great experience!
