I had surgery with Olean hospital about a year and a half ago. My surgery was urgent so on the way to the hospital I called the VA and coordinated for a reference number in order to have the surgery. I turned all of this information into billing. I received bills from several different Olean Hospital organizations. I finally received a call from billing. Very bad experience. I had a serious dog bite which took off top part of my finger. ER nurse hands me a clipboard to fill out my information. I told her I could not write for obvious reasons, my finger was hanging by a thread. Blood going everywhere, no wrapping, no nothing. She was just awful. She said she was the night charge nurse. Because they did not have any expertise to take care of me, they sent me to ECMC, thank God. I hope I never run into this hayseed again. Beware of the "charge" nurse night shift. Even... read more

I was seen in the local ER for chest pain. Every single person I dealt with were prompt, extremely caring and courteous, highly proficient, and educated me well when I was set to leave. I am a combat veteran, and was very uneasy to even go to the ER, and they were extremely patient with me and understanding and helped me feel comfortable as they did what they had to to meet my needs. I would have absolutely no problem in going there in the future if the need arose. Specifically, the ER department was outstanding.
