I have rented from all walks of life: landlords with just one or two properties, massive conglomerates that own most of a town, and property management companies with a sprinkling of properties. Olde Towne Property Management, by far, is the worst rental company I have ever dealt with. They excel in making sure you know they don’t care about you. Renting with Olde Towne in their newly renovated building on Princess Anne for 11 months is one of the worst experiences I’ve had as a renter. I’ve been renting in one form or another since 2001, including several stints in a developing country. After living at an apartment with a kind, responsive management company for the last few months, it feels more and more like Olde Towne is a hobby for most of the folks that work there. Lack of communication once I decided NOT to renew my lease; emails were short & rude. I left the townhouse cleaner upon move out than it was when I moved in. I only rented for 3 years and I as told the dishwasher was molded. It was nasty and molded when I moved in & I never used it, the water itself when hand washing left residue on my dishes/pots pans etc., black mold constantly growing in toilets. After renting with this company, I encourage potential tenants to ask the residents about management, the care of the building, specifically if looking at J-M Building, pest control, and overall noise, ask these questions before you decide to sign on the dotted line, it will be worth it.
