Do NOT miss this gem! The food and ambience here are completely next level. Whether you’re heading into Yellowstone, driving out, or just cruising the Beartooth Highway for the jaw-dropping views, this is an absolute must-stop. Ordered a ribeye medium rare and it was still mooing. It was cold and blue. Not a very good menu! Very limited. The walleye was over battered but not bad. Hostess was rude. Won’t go back!
We were staying at the Rock Creek Resort and dined at Old Piney Dell just because it was convenient. But WOW… the meal was spectacular, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was great, and the bartender Ivan was fantastic! Ivan was so nice and made spectacular drinks! A local favorite & visitor must. The most beautiful spot to eat in Red Lodge. Bar is open at 4PM. The inside feels like time traveling to a fresh & historically rich hunting lodge. The bar feels like a relaxing speakeasy tucked off to the side away from the dining room. The new ownership is doing outstanding. The food, drinks, and service are very good. Beyond happy to see this nostalgic restaurant reopen. They have done an amazing job bringing this location back to life. The food was wonderful and the staff is top notch. We were especially impressed with the bartender, Ivan. His cocktails were the best I have had. He pays special attention to every detail, adjusted according to requests, and pours well for the price (not like other places that under pour and over charge). The Old Fashion, Cosmo, and Sweet Grass were all incredible.
