Great clam chowder-best on Fisherman's Wharf. Just pass those other places and go straight to Fisherman's Grotto. BTW, the rest of the food ain't bad either!
The clam chowder was one of the best compared to the other restaurants. The menu was a bit pricey but the service was great. We shared an appetizer of calamari and shared one of the specials which was more than enough food. I am glad we ate here.
the food was great, next time i'm in Monterey will go there twice, at least.
Lots of choice in chowder and theirs was delicious.Great with cheese toast.My friend had the lobster and gave it thumbs up.Worth a try at $7 for chowder and $24 for lobster,chowder and bread.

Best meal in a two week trip along California – We're italian and you all should know we are very exigent about food. During the september 2008 me and my partner had a trip in California and this was the best place we tried. Thanks fisherman!
Best halibut anywhere, great service and ambience, amazing food – We were visiting Monterey and went to this restaurant for the first time. It was amazing. The halibut is unbelievable, easily the most tender and best sauce ever anywhere. Pairing with sweet potatoes is genius. They have great wine at decent prices also. Excellent food and service – On my first visit to monterey a friend and I chose to eat here based on some of the reviews and we were very pleased. The owner stands outside with samples of clam chowder and is very polite and welcoming and so are the staff. The food is delicious (probably the best clam chowder i've had). I highly recommend this place!
Great food! – We sat down by this big window looking over the water. The service was great and so was the food!! Would come back again.
