People are right favorites from the grill station are gone. You are a little slow refilling items and deserts are not what thy were. the people cleaning tables are overwhelmed to many tables to few staff. But my biggest problem is getting my food using my cane or walker.

I wish I could say I've eaten at OCB recently but I haven't. It's been years actually and that's sad. It's not because we do not like OCB, it's because you decided to close your Crystal Lake location and the closest one to us now is in Arlington Heights, miles away. Too far and inconvenient to want to go out and eat. Instead we go to Golden Corral as a substitute because they are close by and we like the buffet dining experience occasionally. It would be great to have you reopen a restaurant northwest of Arlington Heights.
What I like best about OCB is the fact that I can bring work with me or read a book and dine at my leisure with no one putting pressure on me to vacate the table. When I go, it is usually on a Saturday for lunch by myself. I enjoy the salad bar and generally the soups. For the entrees, I generally pick shrimp or chicken. I have had very good service too. Food is flavorless and cheap. Who wants to eat boiled cabbage? They do not serve steak anymore and is a place that we will check off our list of places to eat. Another thing, clean that filthy rug. It is disgusting. It is the same rug since they opened and seems to me they never cleaned it. The board of health should be notified.
2017 update - Not sure why this still shows up on the OCB page as they closed down this location about a year ago. From 2014 - It is so sad to witness the slow decline of OCB. At it's peak it was our 'go to' family dining destination. Today this local lone remaining Old Country Buffet is average at best. Prices continue to rise while quality and selection go down. good food--lots of it and great staff--not much else to say except I eat there 2-3 times amonth--clean neat and the food doesn't taste like it has a ton of salt or sugar in it
Me& my wife try to go twice a month. that we can. A few past time the yogurt machine had some problems. the most recent all was good including the desert. it is good price and good food very clean. also it was my father/brother favorite. we enjoy lunch as often as possible thank you
