Many better places in KC ! – The smoke ring on the meats is good--decent flavor, but nothing special--backyard bbq basically. Beans are well below average. I would comment on the sauce (brand) they serve (made by a private company in KC on Southwest Blvd), but, unfortunately, that co's attorney threatened to sue me if I told (antyone else) the truth about their "sauce". If you saw what I saw .... oh well, eat wherever you want !! Gates, Bryants, Fiorellas, Smokehouse, KC Masterpiece are all superior products.

Just OK! – Read and heard so much about it. Live in Texas Hard Eight BBQ is way better. The lines where long so I thought that was a good sign. The people where helpful, got 2 slabs of ribs, a Z sandwich, sliced beef , beans, and onion ring. The onion rings are GREAT!. The beans where very good, different but good! The Z sliced beef with two onion rings and cheese, swing and a mIss!, The sliced beef reminds me of Arbys it was sliced so thin with ZERO flavor. Ribs, eh just ok not worth all of the hype! Texas BBQ of pork of br... read more

Long lines tell you it must be good !!! – K C folks know all about Oklahoma Joe's and if you are traveling through Kansas City I say stop here for some fantasic bbq. The beans are unique being a blend of different kinds of beans, one of them being a black bean. Beans are smokey and to me are some of the best. As of November 2008, a jumbo pulled pork sandwich on white or wheat bread or a bun was 6.49 and a side of beans 2.09 or cup 3.19. The rib dinners with one side and texas toast 12.29. Now with bbq deliciously seasoned an... read more

Just Okay – It was Okay..The ribs was like baked ham,I like pork ribs just not cooked like that. The menu didn't have a lot of choice and the beans had no flavor.

BEST BBQ ON EARTH! – I swear, I used to be a true blue Arthur Bryant's fan... I just ate here... and let me tell you, IT IS THE BEST! The sauce is life changing. Its cheaper than every other bbq place in KC- The chicken is so juicy that its dripping. My husband got the bbq brisket sandwich with the onion ring on top and he loved it! The fries are to die for b/c they're seasoned with their bbq rub! This place is so delicious. Its worth the wait.

Stopped by for lunch. – I stopped by there for lunch the other day and just wanted a BBQ sandwich. Pork and ham. I had not had their BBQ and wanted to see if it really was as good as everyone says. I ended up ordering their Jumbo as a to go order. When I got back to my office I was a bit upset. It had about as much meat on it as you would get from an Arbys $1.11 sandwich. $9 for THAT little thing? If you are looking for a value then try RJ's or Johnny's because this place is just trying to make money off its so called reputa... read more

Out of towner found the best BBQ here – Being from the Seattle area, we have a few good BBQ places here. During a business trip recently, I was staying in the Crown Plaza area and researched BBQ here. Seeing the rep of this place, as well as one of my flavorite wise cracking chefs, Anthony Bordain, coming here and declaring this as the best BBQ ever, I decided to put my trust in the man and give it a try. Spending over $30 in cab fare to go and come back to this place from the hotel, it better be worth it. Well.... I was NOT... read more

Some of the best pulled pork I've ever had and onion rings like you've never had – Tried Oklahoma Joe's on the recommendation of our landlord and some co-workers, we were not disappointed. Went with a group of very hungry people this last Saturday afternoon (the evening of the KU/MU football game). When we arrived at the Shamrock gas station (where it's located) we were greeted by a huge line of people almost to the door - a very good sign. Even though the line was long it moved quickly, but not so quickly that we weren't ab... read more
