I had a deeply upsetting experience during my 20-week ultrasound at OHSU’s Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic. The ultrasound tech was cold, dismissive, and lacked basic empathy. She asked if my last pregnancy was a vaginal birth and when I shared that my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage, she responded without compassion and continued with intake questions as if I hadn’t said anything. Ultrasound tech dismissive and rude. Gf came home in tears today after her 20 week ultrasound due to her experience at this clinic. Said they did not explain procedure or what was being looked at and were annoyed by questions, answering in rude and condescending tone. I guess they call it ‘Toilety’ for good reason….
