I recently had an appointment with Erica Qiao and, unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I arrived 9 minutes late due to traffic, which I understand was my responsibility, but I felt the way it was addressed was unnecessarily harsh. The front desk checked me in without mentioning any issues about my arrival time, and the nurse took my vitals as usual. Dr. Chicowski is amazing! She listened and helped so much after the last urologist said no one would want to forward on any treatments for my bladder condition because I am in my 20s and too young. so I got a referral here for a second opinion and not once was my age an issue. She laid out the treatments options and then we decided on the best one. I have had 4 surgeries with her and her fellows at the time of surgery so far and I always feel like I’m in great hands!

While the doctor was fine, I just can't take the wait times anymore. Not to mention waiting over 30min on the phone but also to just be seen. I called to schedule for something that was out of the realm for my primary and told over 3 months wait even as an established patient which I also had to wait 4 months for my initial visit. For urgent matters this is not acceptable especially for women’s health. I also asked to be contacted and speak with someone about this but was never reached out to. After a traumatic experience with a different Women’s Clinic, I felt very safe here. The nurse was kind, listened to my concerns, and respected my boundaries. Scheduling has not been super easy, but understandable.

I was showing clear symptoms of vaginismus and informing my doctor I was in excruciating pain during and after sex and she told me it was normal. It wasn’t until a friend told me to mention the term vaginismus to her for her to look into it. I told her I was bleeding during sex, nauseous, and couldn’t control muscle contractions. She told me to dilate and that it was normal. It is now two years later and I am 20, I was told that as a teenager.
