What a great experience our family had with Ohana Surf Project. We booked the 2hr family lesson. The kids were 10 and 12. Our kids are confident swimmers and this session fit us perfectly. We also picked up the picture package and it was soooooo worth it. The staff were amazing right from the start and the 4 of us all had an amazing session. My daughter 9 yrs old did a one on one lesson and it was amazing!! Her instructor took great care of her. All the staff are super friendly. The photographer is amazing we got great videos and photos of her!!! If you wanna do surf lesson I 100% recommend them.

If you're looking for the ultimate surf experience on Oahu, stop scrolling. Ohana Surf Project is it. My family had the joy of taking lessons with them through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and from the moment we hopped aboard the friendliest "school bus" in Hawaii, we knew we were in for something special. Awesome experience having out first surfing lesson at Waikiki with Ohana Surf Project. In the group session we attended, the kids and I were all standing up on our first wave. The team at the shop, and out in the surf ensured we had a good (and successful) time. The spot where they do the lessons (down near the Barefoot Beach Cafe) is a little quieter than in front of the hotels... which meant no worries about bumping into others (or others bumping into you).

Had a great first time surfing experience. They make the whole process smooth from beginning to end. Was super anxious about learning to surf as a beginner in my 60s, but my instructor and photographer were incredibly patient and supportive. They made sure I felt safe, gave instructions in baby steps when I needed it, and kept me laughing. Shout out to Keikai and Mark! Crossed “trying surfing” off my bucket list.
