Dr. Ochoa is everything I don't want as a primary care physician. First of all, he invades your personal space during visits as he sits practically in your face. He speaks very loudly. My wife said she could hear him talking while she was in the waiting room. Most importantly, he is very dismissive and inpatient to your concerns, and opinions. I have trusted Dr. Ochoa with my healthcare needs for over 8 years and have always found him to be friendly and attentive--always taking the time to explain things so that they are easily understood. Furthermore, I respect his willingness to share his expertise to help prepare the next generation of physicians.
Best Doctor out there
Dr. Ochoa has been amazing. He helped me to find my endocrinologist being a type 1 diabetic after years of seeing bad Dr. after bad Dr. the person he recommended has turn my life and provided amazing treatment. He is always very personal and has always found time for right away in emergencies. I know both he and his staff have stayed late in order to insure i was treated.
If you are African American avoid this guy. Every recent study shows African Americans are underdiagnosed especialy in the areas of pain management, which was confirmed on my last office visit. He failed to address the pain factor guess he thought I was superman with unlimited invulnerability.
I have seen Dr. Ochoa since he opened his practice in Live Oak. He is a excellent physician and anytime that I may have gone to a specialist they told me exactly the same thing as he did. Dr. Ochoa knows just about as much as any specialist out there and he is very knowledgable and also will refer you to a specialist in a heartbeat. I was in the hospital twice in May and he saw me daily. He called in a specialist that agreed with his diagnosis. Dr. Ochoa genuinely cares for his patients.
