###Update#### After contacting the hotel, it seems nothing can be done as they could not even locate the message sent to the hotel! NEGATIVE rating if ever possible. Avoid this hotel at all cost! First of all, my room almost has no natural light as the only window directly faces the next building. Second, there was a half-fishier chocolate basket for other guests, which I assume is the previous guest. We stayed at the Oceana Hotel in Santa Monica last month for my partner’s birthday staycation, and it was nothing short of wonderful. We booked an ocean view suite, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. While we did have a small hiccup (we got briefly stuck in the elevator), the way the team handled it turned what could have been stressful into a memory we now laugh about. Perhaps one of my favorite hotels in the USA. The vibe is laid back and relaxed. The pool in the center of the courtyard is relaxing and serene. It almost makes you think you’re in the Mediterranean. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff is wonderful. Short walk to the Santa Monica Pier.

We had a wonderful stay at the LXR Santa Monica. Service is top-notch: attentive, friendly, ever present but unobtrusive. Head Bellman Lenny always knew what we wanted without being asked. His local knowledge guided us on our daily adventures. The hotel is a nice size - it has everything you need, including Peloton bikes and treadmills, but is intimate enough that the staff know you by name. Our room had a great ocean view and large sitting room. We’ll be back next year.
