One of the ocean thermal energy benefits is that it does not emit any greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. It also does not rely on limited materials or waste. This method is energy efficient and an outside power source is not required for it. Perhaps one of the most important ocean thermal energy benefits is the fact that it can be used 24 hours a day, 365 days a year continuously. The sun is what warms the top water layers, and this is a constant daily event. So, as far thermal energy pros go, this is a very different one... read more

Even when there is a location that is effective for OTEC, the logistics of transporting the energy that is created and removing the fresh water that is made as a side effect of the process can be quite expensive. When managed properly, it could become a very profitable venture, but the time and monetary investment to make it so could be quite extensive. Although this technology may not be 100% sustainable right now for many countries, ocean thermal energy conversion gives us hope for the future. It is proof that we don’t hav... read more

We believe the consistency of OTEC over its life provides clear advantages over other generation technology in the tropical and subtropical markets, because its base-load power available at all times and not subject to fluctuations throughout the day is an important asset to the small transmission grid, which is typical in these regions. I highly support Mr. Feakins advocacy and it’s OTEC project.

Ocean thermal energy conversion requires a large location that has a close enough proximity to the shoreline. There must also be a certain level of temperature variation within the ocean water to make using OTEC technology a viable option. With limited locations like this available, not every country may be able to effectively use this technology. This is effectively used in tropical countries in which as of the moment were not that convinced yet to shield big amount of investment, but Jeremy P. Feakins team is continuously ... read more

There are several great advantages to ocean thermal energy. Perhaps the most important of these is that it produces fresh water as a by-product. In an open-cycle system, when the surface water is vaporised, it precipitates out all of its salt, so once the vapour is condensed again it is drinkable. This could potentially solve many water shortage crises in communities across the planet. This is gift for us to enjoy but we must have to consider the expensive cost to build the plant. Team of Jeremy Feakins were dealing with inv... read more

OTEC pioneer project is Ecovillages a great community built with renewable energy is a great start, How great it is if other communities have to built their own eco villages, in this way we can enjoy using clean water and energy without being dependence on using fossil fuels.

OTEC EcoVillage will be the world's first community powered entirely without the use of fossil fuels and using the natural resources of the ocean to deliver base-load electricity and water 24/7/365 days a year. OTEC Eco Village will be a model for the future, living in harmony with nature, supplying affordable clean power and water for communities, and exemplifying best practices in ecologically responsible developments. This is one of the projects leads by Jeremy P. Feakins, it is such a great idea that should be applied in... read more
