One of the most charming places I have ever stayed in! Not counting the breathtaking views this place is spot on. Comfy robes and blankets for the hot tub or sitting around the fire pit!! Absolutely will come back!
We rented the Captains Quarters for 2 nights at the end of a 14 day Alaska tour. The bed was super comfy and the views spectacular. The room is also very spacious. Outdoor amenities looked good, but it was rainy and chilly, so we took a pass. On the down side, a large family rented the rest of the property and had no consideration for keeping quiet. The thin walls didn't help. Also, the only heat source for the room is a 6" x 6" space heater we had to move from sleeping to bath to take a shower .
Beautiful location with a wonderful view! We had the Big Mermaid with a comfortable King size bed. We had two nice chairs and a fire pit that was ours just outside our room on a lovely deck. There was a community hot tub, but we didn’t use it. However, we saw others that did. The room was very clean and smelled sanitary upon entry. Beautifully located right on the water with amazing views! This place is both charming, quiant, and the service was great! The owner was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. We didn't know what to expect when we visited Homer, although we were pleasantly surprised and love this place and loved Homer. There was a moose that was spotted nearby that guests got to see and we also saw bald eagles. When going to breakfast, we saw a large moose crossing the road. I love Homer and this is a great place to stay when visiting!
Regarding the Big Mermaid room: Cute and kitchy, not comfortable or useful. A few examples: The oversized King bed for this small room is slumped like a hammock in the middle, too tall to sit on the edge of, and does not have Any real sleeping pillows; just thick and hard square decorative pillows. There are no chairs or tables to sit at to relax or put on shoes. If you are taller than 6', good luck sitting down or getting up from the toilet.
