Obsidian Financial Services made us miss multiple closing dates because of their slowness and incompetence. They first promised a 17 Dec 21 closing, so we could enjoy Christmas with our kids in the new house, but to sum up the story in a line, "Christmas destroyed". I contacted a Loan officer to do a refi-closeout deal for my property in February 2021. It is now June and my deal is still not closed. Now they have the processor working on my loan because I was told that the loan officer dropped the ball on many clients and didn't know what he was doing. His name is Christopher King. Horrible ! The process has been like water torture, drip, drip, drip….We have been “clear to close” for the last 2 weeks, but they keep coming up with more paperwork requirements. As of this morning, they need 2 more years of tax transcripts. Absolutely ridiculous!! Avoid them like the plague !!!!
Obsidian Financial Services is a company run by the sister in law (Tanya Seely) of a loan officer, Michael Seely at Nationwide Equities 1 International Blvd Suite 1202 Mahwah, NJ 07495. They share sensitive customer information between the two companies without notifying customers and engage in fraudulent advertisement, and mislead consumers into rates which do not exist. Due to their own mistakes they have missed to closing dates. Today we are scheduled for the third try at closing, I fully expect them to miss this one also. I gave them one star because I couldn't give them less.
One of the fastest lender's in the the industry. Closed our FHA loan within two weeks and we made contract just in time. The prior lender, a company out of India, kept coming back with conditions because their lender kept coming back with conditions. Obsidian Underwriting staff was constantly updating us with the loan status. The company from India had no Underwriter so God only knows what was going on there.
