I have just reviewed some of the negative reviews on Dr. Ober and all I can say about that is "some are sicker than others." I have been a patient of Dr. Ober for over 10 years off and on. He is highly skilled as a psychotherapist and has a strong skill set. He has helped me make sense of my life and the crazy situations I've been in. I am not a patient of Richard Ober. I did, however, call him to ask a question. His response was unprofessional, impolite, and downright rude — both in the tone of his voice and in the words that he spoke. I would never, ever recommend him to anyone — EVER — just based on our one conversation. He is a psychologist, for goodness sakes. If as a mental health professional he can be so nasty when speaking to someone he doesn’t even know for the first time, then I suggest that he go to see someone to be evaluated. I have been seeing Dr. Ober for over 5 Years I was suffering with depression and drug abuse I was contemplating suicide. I had seen over 7 Psychologist in a 6 year period. Since seeing Dr Ober My life has made a huge transformation and it is due in part to Dr. Ober and I couldn't have done it without him. He is patient and understanding and a great moral compass for me. If you feel like you are in a hopeless situation try him it worked for me and I was a hopeless case so I though........

I wanted to put this out there because if it helps someone, GREAT! I had an appointment to see this doctor to review my case for SSDissability. I experienced a complete loss of memory from the point of driving to the appointment to returning home. My only guess is that he may have hypnotized me. I will never know for sure, but I had never experienced complete memory loss like that before. It was very unsetteling. It continues to confuse and confound me four years later. Dr Ober is a very polite caring doctor. i have been a patient of his long enough to give an informed opinion,infact i have recommend him to friends and family alike. after dealing with other doctors,i know Dr Ober has been the most help full and avaliable in times of need for me.

I would not recommend this psychologist to anyone; he was unprofessional, rude and very cold. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be very careful if you should choose to have this man "help" with your situation. He could do more harm than you could ever imagine.
