I chose concierge care expecting a high level of communication, respect and support, but my experience was traumatic and disappointing. I wholeheartedly believe that the Ob2me care model should be the standard for all moms to experience. Although it operates on a concierge basis with an associated cost, I truly feel it is worth every penny. I had a fantastic experience working with Carson and Miranda! This was my first birth and I felt heard through the whole process. They took the time to understand my needs and advocated for me during the process. She worked very well with my doula and family as well. Grateful for the support and will be working with them again if I get the chance!
From a clinical midwifery perspective, I want to give some praise for what Carson has created and is offering through this practice. We are challenged in today's healthcare world to offer the true elements of midwifery, which includes building a caring relationship, preventing interventions until they are clinically necessary, and curating the birth experience to create a gentle entrance for babies into our world.
