I came to this location when I was seeking support for opioid addiction and met with a doctor was seemed very ignorant to addiction. I was shamed for not knowing what showed up in my urine sample, and was told not to come back unless I was serious about getting recover supports such as methadone. No thanks to OATC, I am over a year sober. Im thankful that my awful experince at OATC carling Ave didnt prevent my recovery at the fantastic Recovery Care. I came in as a shell of myself, begging for assistance. Even the decision to come here was the hardest decision of my life, I had to drag myself in essentially, I was too sick to even drive. Always something save yourself stress and go somewhere else
The doctors, nurses and coordinators at the Carling clinic are all phenomenal. They make you feel human again when you need it most. I’m extremely grateful for everything they’ve done for me. If you’re ready for change and take it seriously, just put in an honest effort and you’ll get your life back. It’s not hard, staying stuck in daily survival mode of ‘getting well’ is much harder than this. Thank you OATC staff!! 🧡😅
